For anyone having trouble...

Flexible Squares is an LJ S2 style that looks nice and clean and preserves subject lines, alphabetical text icon list, linking to a comment starting at that comment, no problem posting comments, etc, etc. As in, I'm vaguely aware they changed something from my friendslist but you can't tell it from my own experience, as I've always had my LJ set up to use my own format everywhere (way too many people set up their LJ design to look shiny and be unreadable.)

Do you have your style set to flexible squares, and your LJ set to use your custom comment page? That way you can override everything and use the working one.

I think so. Custom comment is on the display tab of 'manage account' right? Or is there another one somewhere else?

Nope - one of them isn't an option if you don't have a paid account. I kind of don't want to pay them just to fix something that they broke.

Huh. "View comment pages from my Friends page in my own style" should still be showing you comments in Flexible Squares, though. I use Firefox, and it's working for me in that styel.
